Pediatricians- They specialize in the care of children till young adulthood. They provide nutritional health informaton that is appropriate for the childs weight and age. They also provide information to teens on how to use birth control, helping overweight children control their diet, giving babies immuzination shots and so on.

2. Arts, Visual, Performing

Photography- Learn the history about the camera and the different styles of photography and how a photograph, is or can become arts.

3. Animal Sciences

Animal Care Technician- Learn how to care for animals how their nutrition should be, their behavior and how the bond with a human companion.

-The mission of the medical education program of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is to prepare graduates for distinguished carrers in clinical practice, teaching, research, and public service.
-They dont have photogrphy as a class. = (
-Very big campus (judging by pictures and map)
2. University of California, Santa Barbara
- Surrounded by a lot of Water!

The websites were really hard to find what i wanted but i am also interested in schools with culinary art majors in california as well. I found The Art Institute Of California but i want a school that has both Medicine And cooking in it, but mostly Medicine.

Tips and Hints!

1. What i remember about transformations?

Dont know how to eplain it very well but this is how i remember.

Example.
f(x) = (x^2 +3)-3

a) The first thing i do is identify what the original function was.

Linear Function Domain: Range:

Constant Function Domain: Range:

Quadratic Function Domain: Range:

Cubic Function Domain: Range:

Square Root Function Domain: Range:

Absolute Value Function Domain: Range: The function is a parabola because of the x^2 (one input gives you 2 outputs)

b) Once i know what the original function was, Then i look for parentheses in the function.

The function does have parentheses.

f(x)= (x^2+3)-3

(For me, this means that there will be a horizontal shift (the function will go left of Right)

--Because there is a positive 3 the function will shift Left 3 units

--If it were to be Negative the function will shift Right

c)Once i have shifted the function horizontally, I look at the Function and see if there are any numbers outside the parentheses.

There is a number outside the parentheses.

f(x)= (x^2+3) -3

(The number outside makes the function shift vertically up or down)

---Since there is a negative 3, it will shift Down 2 units

---If the number were to be Positive, it will Shift Up

3.What i Dont unserstand?

I have trouble with unit circle and coming up with cordinates on the spot. Like if someone asks me to tell them quickly the cordinate. But thats just me and remembering things = D I think thats it.

Logs and Inverses

Well from what Ms. Hwang told me LOGS ARE EXPONENTS!!

I don't know how to explain it but i just get them.

Example 1
log₂ 16=x

-This equation is read Log base 2 of 16 equals x.

2^x=16

-Your trying to find 2 to What input will be the Exponent that will give you an output of 16.

Answer:

X=4


Why?

2 to the power of 4, equals 16


log_ax means the power that you raise

Inverses

The way i find the inverse of a function is by plugging in x for y.


For example
--------------------------
f(x)= 2x+3

y=2x+3
1. Switch the variables x and y.

x=2y+3
2. Subtract 3 from both sides.

2y=x-3
3. Divide both side by 2.

y=x-3/2
4. This is the Inverse.


what i dont understand are how ln can be the inverse of e.
If e is 2.71.... then what is ln.

1/2.71...... if there was a simple way to understand this i would probably not get lost....

HELP!!!

EVEN and ODD functions

Even Functions: An even function is when the function is symmetric about the y-axis.

The right side is mirror image of left hand side and the left side is mirror image of right hand side.

Mathematically speaking, if you plug in a (-x) in the place of a (x) you will get the same output.

For example: f(x) =7x² + 10

So I'll plug –x in for x, and simplify:

f(–x) =7(–x)² + 10
= 7(x²) + 10

= 7x² +10

Odd Functions: An odd function is when a function is turned about, on it's origin, 180 degrees.



For example: f(x) = 6x³ – 3x

so I'll plug –x in for x, and simplify:

f(–x) = 6(–x)³ – 3(–x)
= 6(–x³) + 3x
= –6x³ + 3x

<To make it easy for me, I think of multiplying through the function by -1 >

My Happy and Sad Halloween

I had my Rop class when the day started and went on a RIDE ALONG with one of the animal control officers and we rescued a cute 10 week old Doberman dog. She was sweet. she was hit in the freeway and had a fractued leg = ( we took her back of to the shelter to take care of her and hope she gets adopted . She will be a 3 legged dog but she is a sweetheart!!! The officer took a picture of the dog and gave me it .

After the class i came home and got ready to got to the LA Clippers vs. Dallas Mavericks game with the clippers losing. = ( oh well. Gordon (#10) wasn't on his game. 84 to 93.

i HAD A REALLY BUSY DAY THIS DAY!!! i Started with the HOMECOMING Pep Rally.




the pep rally went great with all of its performances. i had to take pictures of the pep rally like this one of our principal Mr. Lorera he looks funny ut in the spirit!!!







right after this pep rally the day went on till the parade. Where JUNIOR COUNCIL WON THE FLOAT CONTEST!!!

THESE PICTURES TURNED OUT GREAT(I TOOK THEM!!!)THERE WAS FIRE WORKS AND EVERYTHING AND the long day ended with us WINNING THE HOMECOMING GAME!!!!
